Avengers: Infinity War

“Dread it. Run from it. Destiny arrives all the same. And now it’s here. Or should I say, I am.”

Thanos

Having a movie with 10 years of hype behind it, including over 30 characters, and a large CGI villain seems like a recipe for disaster, but the Russo brothers pulled it off and created potentially the greatest comic book movie of all time. This was probably the most tense I’ve ever been in a theater, the stakes were high and it seemed like all was lost, but man was it a journey! I’m really happy they just jumped right into the action instead of taking time to re-introduce characters in case this was someone’s first Marvel film, it really pays off to have followed along with the entire MCU.

Special effects in this movie were spectacular, closeups of Thanos’ face you almost couldn’t even tell he was CGI, and the different environments we visited all looked super good. Josh Brolin really killed the role (in a good way), because this is the first Marvel villain I’ve found to actually be scary.

I can’t really think of any issues I had with this movie, it was awesome, it was tense, funny, sad, it was a roller coaster. The action was absolutely insane, especially towards the last 40 minutes or so of the film, and I can’t wait to see how it all ends! 9.5/10.
